First off, the reason I'm not leaving it 5 stars is that because while most of it may be made of stainless steel; it should really be brass and beyond that, the threaded female nozzle where it connects to your pipe or extension is made of plastic! Also, one of the silicone/rubber jets was off already after installation. I was able to pull it out a little bit but it is already not like the others. I may be able to pull it out slightly more but am hesitant as I don't want it to fully come out.
It was very well packaged despite other reviews. It was secure in its factory box as well as a secondary Amazon box.
Installation was as expected. I never used the tape included and wrapped my own Teflon tape about 3-4 times around my existing extension tap. I then used pipe dope over the Teflon tape (which I hope won't be a problem since the new shower head's nozzle is plastic). The new shower head is quite heavy and I can only imagine what it weighs with water in it, but my 20+ year old extension was able to handle it tightening the knobs with channel lock pliers. Initially it leaked from where it connected to the extension, but then I wrapped a rag around the connection (to not scratch as seen in another review) and tightened it more with channel lock pliers. Because it was properly prepped with quality Teflon tape and pipe dope, it won't leak despite not being as tight as I'd have liked it had it been a brass connector. Plastic seems like an odd weak point for a connector of a pretty heavy product.
The shower was great! It moves A LOT of water but the pressure isn't too too high. I think it's just right. The 12" version is a huge improvement to the shower! The 16" one is interesting but I would be worried about the extra weight.
I hope this thing lasts!
